Youth Chair

Kristina Gerard

Hi everyone,

My name is Kristina Gerard, and I have recently been asked to be a part of the MSRBA Youth Committee. First of all, I am SO excited to be joining this committee and this group of people. I have always wanted to help grow the MSRBA youth as a whole but also be able to help the youth as individuals, and I’m hoping I will be able to do just that.
A little bit about myself is that I have been showing rabbits since I was 6 years old. I began showing my sisters pet rabbit in 4-H and was kindly gifted two Mini Lops from fellow 4-Her’s a couple of years later. Those two rabbits are what got me started in showing rabbits and educating myself about them. I ended up joining the ARBA and MSRBA around 2015 and really started to take breeding and raising rabbits seriously at that time. Since then, I have done so much. I have attended 4 – ARBA Conventions, made friends all across the country. I’ve accomplished goals and watched friends do the same. Since aging out of 4-H and Youth, I have continued to be involved in the Isanti County Rabbit Project and I am very excited to be able to help support and encourage the MSRBA Youth as well.
Some of my favorite memories since joining rabbits have been meeting the many different people that are involved in raising rabbits, and creating friendships by being a mentor and by being mentored. You never stop learning in this hobby and I think that is pretty wonderful. Everyone has something to offer and knowledge to gain, and I am looking forward to learning and growing as I take on this new role.

I am excited to help at the first youth event this year which will take place in Owatonna on May 13th. Until then, take care, and feel free to reach out at any time.
